For our holiday the location was good and magnificent, near to Supermarket which open 24 hrs, Daikokucho which is 300m walk and center for shopping. We liked the convenience of the standard twin room with kitchenette.
The staff - some of them were not so helpful.

The staff were very helpful explaining in English how to get to the Hotel. I liked the fact that the room was self catering and had its own bathroom. It was very central to Namba station which is a central point for all train routes. There were shops nearby so we could buy groceries. It was a plesant stay and good value for money.
The bottom bunk bed was uncomfortable to sit on because of the side slats...perhaps chairs could be provided or the side panel lowered so there would be seating in the daytime.

I thought we would prefer to stay in an apartment where we'd have a bit more room and be able to cook for ourselves. And we were quite satisfied with what we got. The apartment was more spacious than a hotel room, though still quite small. There were four wide and comfortable beds squeezed in with not much room between them. A very large wardrobe with folding doors that just cleared the bed. Enough cooking utensils, a microwave, hotplate, rice cooker and some sort of electric grill, and lots of bowls. An air-conditioner/heater. Lots of plug sockets and free Wi-fi. Everything was clean. It was great to have a table to spread everything out on and sit round. It was conveniently located, near the Midosuji Underground Line which goes to Osaka, Namba and Shin-Osaka stations and the best thing was the two supermarkets very close by which were always open. We were able to buy breakfast cereal, pasta, fruit and icecreams and keep our conservative kids fed. The bathroom facilities had the toilet, washbasin and bath/shower separate, which was useful with four people.
Both the location and the hotel were rather dingy (but seemed safe and friendly). I think a lot of Osaka is like this. We had to pay our bill upfront in cash, which I hadn't really expected and caused some inconvenience. The English spoken was quite limited and there were some English instructions for the appliances, but they weren't comprehensive and it took us a while to work out how to operate the hotplate and even the vacuum cleaner. The bath tap leaked onto the shower floor when running a bath. The Wi-Fi socket was not very near any plug socket, so we had to go to Den Den Town and buy an extension lead.
